Lakes of the Woods

On this ride we suggest starting in Medford and turning east on Highway 140. You'll have a great view of Mount McLaughlin for a bit, and lean into the curves as you climb in elevation.
You have four options for lunch along the route. The first is Lake of the Woods Resort, on your right. There's a great restaurant there with a deck to sit on and a cold beer waiting. From there, take Dead Indian Memorial Road toward Ashland and the Green Springs. You can stop and eat at either Howard Prarie Resort, Hyatt Lake, or the Greensprings Restaurant, where Dead Indian dead-ends into the Greensprings Highway.
Turn west toward Ashland and enjoy the spectacular view as you descend into the Rogue Valley. In Ashland, you can park your bike in the shade of 100-acre Lithia Park and visit the famed Elizabethan Theater or cruise the shops on Main Street. Definitely one of our favorite rides, especially in summer when the mountains are 20 degrees cooler.
