Girls of the Demo Daze

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Somewhere in this photo may be the winner of this year’s Harley-Davidson SuperRide grand prize: A trip to Milwaukee and the bike of your choice, customized by Willie G’s design team.

These five women of the Wild Rogue WITW Chapter took test rides on Saturday and qualified for the contest.  From left to right, there’s Sandy, Marsha, Holly, Joyce and Maureen.

If you want to add your name to the contest, just give us a call.

Congratulations Bill & Linda!

Bill & Linda Hockaday came by D&S a couple of weeks ago, and ended up staying all day.

It wasn’t the donuts, or the popcorn, or the coffee.

We’d like to think it was the company — but it actually was the new, dark blue 2009 Road King that Bill kept returning to, again and again. The rule around  here is: the third time your butt hits the seat, it’s your bike.

Bill lived up to the rule.  Congratulations and Ride Safe!

Good decision, Bret!

Bret Demartini came into D&S a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t walk past the scarlet red FLHX Street Glide we had by the front door. He couldn’t stay long, because he’s a busy guy, down at the local Fred Meyer store.

Then, a few days, we found him standing next to it again.

And, then again, with his wife.

It was love. We knew it.  So, we just waited until April 14, when he finally walked in, signed papers, rolled it out in the sunshine and took it home.

Which means we’ll be seeing even more often.  Welcome to the family, Bret!

What’s black and orange and chrome all over?

That’s easy — the XL1200 Sportster Custom that was sitting in the showroom, right across from our Customer Corner.

But don’t come into D&S looking for it now.

It left last week with our friend, Jeff Jones of Grants Pass.  Last time we saw him he looked like a kid in a candy store — smiling ear to ear.

Congratulations Jeff!

The Pool Man rides…

Monday, April 12th, 2010

The next time you call Allen Nelson to come help you fix your pool, don’t be surprised if he leaves his truck behind.

Allen left his Sportster at D&S last Saturday.

And rode off on a new Red Hot Sunglo Softail Deluxe.

Congratulations Allen!

Ride, Dick, ride!

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

Dick Mulder had his eye on a new Street Glide in Red Hot Sunglo — while traveling — at another dealership!

He grabbed his cell phone and said, “Can you find one for me?”

Well, you know the answer to that.

Within a week, we had just the bike he wanted, and Dick had vacuumed his garage.  Really.  His wife said so.  Well, the garage may stay clean, but let’s hope the bike doesn’t.  Get out there and get some bugs on it!

Welcome Back

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

Ron and Debbie Kidwell thought they could live without a Harley in the garage.

But on Saturday, sitting at the Sales desk, signing paperwork, they admitted they were wrong.

They had sold their bike a while back, and found they missed Saturday rides with friends, HOG meetings and exploring the backroads of Southern Oregon.

They won’t miss them anymore.  Welcome them back to the pack on their beautiful 2003 Softail.

The good kind of Black Ice

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Glenn Sandy of Grants Pass had no idea he was going to buy a new bike when he wandered into D&S last weekend.

He loved his 2000 FXDL, and had parked it right outside the showroom window.  But on the other side of the glass was a 2010 FatBoy.  And every time he walked around it, it changed color — purple to blue to purple to blue.

It’s called Black Ice, and Glenn’s Harley heart skidded and came to a stop right there. His wife, Shari, just shrugged her shoulders and said, “You want it, right?”

Right.  Anyone in the market for a 2000 FXDL?
