Jo Ann Herrs of Medford sent us this photo of Mariah, her 12-yearold miniature pinscher. Mariah has two sets of leathers (plus a full closet of sweatsuits, casual wear and a party dress) and enjoys riding in her purple pet carrier, on the back of Jo Ann’s purple H-D Deuce. Fun stuff!

It’s a happy day for Jeff Sheehan of Central Point. He took home a 2011 Sportster Custom on Friday. Enjoy!

Congrats go out to our new friend, Patty Sweat, who headed over the Siskiyous today towing her new Fat Boy Lo. Patty is an Oregon girl, serving in the US Navy in southern California, and she chose us as her Harley-Davidson dealer. We’re so proud! Have a safe journey home, and ride back up to see us - after the snow melts.

So, we’ve had a coding problem with our blog - mostly in how we insert photos. This is a test to see if we can work around it. Anybody recognize this place?

Poor George! He wrecked his old Harley, and has been slowly putting it back together again. And figured it would probably take him a year or so.

But his wife, Reva, decided a year without a Harley is just too long.

So, when GeorgeAdams’ brother invited him out to lunch on his birthday, and suggested they stop by D&S, and took him back to show him the bike he wished he had, it wasn’t until the whole family appeared outta nowhere that George figured out something wasn’t right.

Or, it was better than right. It was a 2010 Ultra Classic in blue and silver. With all the bells and whistles a birthday boy could want.

1. Because of how it makes us feel.

2. Because when you’re riding, you can’t think about anything but the road.

3. Because of how the world feels, smells, looks from the seat of a motorcycle.

4. Because life is short. You don’t want to say “I shoulda” or “I coulda” later…  Ride now…  Thanks MT!

Our friend Bill Awalt came by Wednesday and picked up his new Tri-Glide Ultra Classic.

Bill’s been riding for years, and decided that the trike was a good fit for the long distances he likes to ride.  He dressed it up with chrome lower fork legs, a Zumo GPS and an electric garage door opener.

We wish him many, many safe miles! 

Confession: I have known John Enders since we were both young(er) reporters at the Mail Tribune.  And I’ve listened to him talk about riding a Harley for, well, let’s just say a few years.

It took his lovely wife Anne to make it happen.

Apparently– again, a few years ago — they rode a Harley together and never forgot that feeling of going down the highway, in the wind, together.  Now that they’re together again, two wheels were in order.

John still writes, freelancing and blogging, most often about the politics of South America.  But my guess is we may see a few articles on a new topic.  Writing and riding go together.  Congrats my friends! — terrie*
