So -- what were you wishing for in the 2007 Harley-Davidson model year?
How about 96 cubic inches -- stock! Six-speed transmissions? How about a true Harley roar, right out of the box?
You got it.
How about the return of the Softail Custom®? A blacked-out V-rod® that screams speed in the dark? A 50th Anniversary Sportster®? How about 110-cubic-inch Screaming Eagle® editions of the Dyna®, Softail Springer®, Road King® and Ultra Classic®?
You got it. And you'll find just what you've always dreamed of -- rolling into our showroom during the months of August and September.
To celebrate the amazing 2007 lineup, we're going to hold a weeklong Open House Sept. 11-16. You can drop by any time that week for a test ride, but plan on wearing your cowboy boots to our Wild West party in the parking lot Saturday, Sept. 16. We'll e-mail out invitations next month.
In the meantime, don't wait too long to get your name on the bike of your dreams.*
*(Call Matt, Michelle or Larry in Sales -- 541-535-5515 -- for more information on available models and colors.)
If you want to save some serious money on a Sportster, V-Rod or Softail Heritage, we have just a few more in stock, and we'd like to roll them out. Call the Sales Staff for details.
This summer we challenged you tell us a story, and a lot of you did. Our Community Page has overflowed with adventures, memories and tales from the road. While we've enjoyed them all, we've decided to award D&S T-shirts to two Dales who told the best tales told in June and July.
Our June winner is Dale Smith, for his Descent Into Death Valley, a great story of about a solo trip on long, lonely roads.
Our July winner is Dale Hermann for his tale of Rider Fellowship -- where fate guides him to a fellow D&S rider on a muddy road in
New Mexico
. (Guys, if you're reading this, zip me a note and let me know what size shirt you wear!)
Thanks to all of you who have shared your wonderful words. The contest will continue through August and September. Keep 'em coming.
Here are a few things to keep in mind this month:
D&S now has a toll-free (800) number for all of you outside the local calling area. It is: 877-874-7698.
The 2nd annual Corset Cruise, hosted by the Women In the Wind, raised $7,000 to help local women afford mammograms and breast cancer treatment! Congrats on a great event. (Girls and corsets and motorcycles -- Aren't you sorry you missed it?)
This month's staff profile is of Jamie, MotorClothes® Apparel manager and Sportster® rider. Check it out.
D&S is open 7 days a week. Our hours are
9 to 6
Monday through Friday, and 9 to 5 on Saturdays and Sundays. We also now have a service writer on Sundays for bikes that need to be checked in or picked up.
Finally, August is a incredibly busy month. There's no excuse for sitting at home when there are a zillion places to ride. Check out the Events Calendar connected to our What's New page. It features a list of all the motorcycle rides and runs across the region, with contact information. We update it every day -- so if you have an event you want listed, e-mail it to: terrie@dsharley.com
