Win a D&S T-Shirt!

You know that story you just love to tell about your favorite ride? About the storm that left you stranded under a freeway overpass? Or the $400 speeding ticket you got as a souvenir in Nevada ? Or how you discovered the most beautiful road in the world, right in your own backyard?

We'd love to hear it! And we'll even look at your vacation photos!

Go to our website, click on Community and you'll find a place to tell us your best story. The best one sent to us each month will win a D&S T-shirt. One of our favorite customers, Dale Smith, has kicked off the competition for June with a tale about his trip to Death Valley. Check it out!

Vietnam Wall Reception
From left, veterans Bob Roland, D&S owner Dick Martin, and Ken "Badger" Brigham

D&S hosted a reception for riders accompanying the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall on Monday, May 22. About 100 bikes from Oregon and California gathered to plan the final leg of the wall's trip to Portland. We fed everyone hotdogs and treated them to a little western music to kick off the trip. Many bikes from Southern Oregon joined the parade up I-5 the next morning.

We're still counting the dollar bills that everyone stuffed into the donation jars, but we know Saturday's 5th annual Bikers Have Heart was a great success. More than 70 bikes participated in the Yahtzee Run, and a few hundred people packed the parking lot at D&S to raise money for two local boys who are battling leukemia.

Kelly Tyler won the best hand, with a double-Yahtzeed score of 408, and Don Smith won the 50-50 and donated the winnings back to our Bikers Have Heart kids -- Conner Wick, 11, of Grants Pass , and Berkley Connor, 18, of Shady Cove.

Both boys spent the day with us, taking rides in the sidecar chauffeured by General Manager Gene Nelson, and visiting at stops on the Yahtzee Run route.

Thanks to the great music provided by Dale Visage and his band Hog Wild, for the spaghetti feed provided by Kathy Olson at Fatty's, and to all of our customers for having such great hearts.

See the Photo Album of the event.

NOTE: We've decided to extend our Bikers Have Heart bike sale offer through the month of May. Buy a new bike, donate $100 and we'll give you a $500 in-store spending spree.

D&S Harley-Davidson and the local folks at Pepsi have teamed up to donate a brand new FXSTI Softail® Standard -- with 100% of the proceeds going to the Pediatrics Center at Rogue Valley Medical Center , and the Birth Center at Three Rivers Community Hospital .

Tickets are only $20, and will be sold through Saturday, July 8. You can buy them at the D&S Parts Counter. For more information, call us at 541-535-5515, or call the RVMC Foundation office at 541-789-5025.

A Day For Women Who Ride has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.

The day will include morning seminars, lunch, and a ride in the afternoon. We're hoping the date change will give us a chance at better weather. Cost is a $10 donation to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For more information, contact Terrie Claflin at 541-535-5515, ext. 1002, or terrie@dsharley.com

It's spring, and we've got new merchandise rolling in every day. Put the kickstand down and pour yourself a cup of coffee, chomp on some popcorn -- even check your e-mail on our internet station in the waiting room upstairs. Take a few moments and tell us a story. Zip us a photo or a tall tale about your latest Harley-Davidson adventure. We'd love to hear what's new with you...
