Travel north from Phoenix through Central Point and on to Table Rock Road. Two miles past Touvelle Park be sure to veer right staying on Table Rock Road on the east side of Upper Table Rock. Turn right onto Sams Valley Hwy (Hwy 234). Just prior to crossing the Rogue River again, turn left heading north on Rogue River Rd. This will bring you in the back way to Shady Cove.

Turn north onto Crater Lake Hwy (Hwy 62) and stay on it all the way to Union Creek.

On the way back, turn left onto Butte Falls Prospect Rd at Prospect. Follow the winding road all the way to Butte Falls after which the road becomes Butte Falls Rd. Continue until it meets Crater Lake Hwy once again. Turning south, you are on your way back home. We recommend skirting Medford to the east and making the last leg via N Foothill and N Phoenix Roads.

POINTS OF INTEREST

Touvelle State Park
Plenty of picnic area and open expanses of lawn for frisbee and shaded areas to relax. On the east side of the park, take a walk along the river and into protected wetlands and wildlife preserves.

Upper Rogue River
There are many points of interest for nature lovers in the Union Creek area where the river has some very interesting features. Hiking trails are very accessible right off the highway.
