
The Mountain Lakes Loop
Travel south from Phoenix through Ashland. After passing through the main part of town on Siskiyou Blvd and the OSU campus, bear left onto Ashland Street until you cross over the I-5. Travel 3/4 mile and turn left onto the Deceased Indian Memorial Road.
Go several miles up into the mountians, coninuing past Hyatt Prairie Road and Howard Lake for about 5 miles, then turn left onto Big Elk Road heading north.
Travel 8 miles to Lake of the Woods Hwy (140). Jog right and left onto County Road 821 which turns into Butte Falls Fish Lake Road. Continue on to the town of Butte Falls. 9 miles past Butte Falls the road comes to a T intersection. Take a right onto the very winding Crowfoot Road which emerges at the Crater Lake Hwy (62) near Casey State Park. Take a left going west to Shady Cove. From there it's a straight shot back to where you started.
Be sure to stop at the many scenic sights along the way. A picnic by Howard or Fish lake or lunch at Butte Falls is recommended.

Howard Prairie Lake
A large, scenic lake with campground, convenience store and docks. Perfect for boating and fishing. Fill up your tank while you're here.
Fish Lake
Lovely grounds for boating, hiking and picnicking. There is a general store and small restaurant.
Willow Lake
More lovely grounds. Stop and relax and take a nice walk.
Whiskey Spring
Secluded campground in a natural setting. There is a natural spring that fills a large beaver pond and natural wildlife habitat.
