The Only Way To Go

We bought Roger's 95th anniversary Ultra Classic almost 4 years ago. I had never ridden on a bike other than a small dirt bike when I was 11. I would try to be as still as I could, but he would still say I was moving. I loved the riding, and being as stubborn as I am, I told him I wanted my own bike.
We found me a 650cc Yamaha to start out on and signed me up for Team
Oregon
. I was told I was one of the better riders in the class, and I passed with flying colors. Roger told me I had to ride the Yamaha for a year, and ride I did! He bought me a new '05 Road Glide a year later and I absolutely love it!
I have now been on my own bike(s) for almost 3 years. I only work 4 miles from home, but sometimes it takes 2 hours to get home. I like the relaxation I get from riding. It is a great way to see the scenery. We rode the bikes to
Denver
last summer. It's the only way to go!
Where I (would) Ride

I have never ridden but I hope to own a Harley some day. I do know a great ride some of my friends take.
Get on I-5 north to the first Grants Pass exit then take Hwy 199 west to Crescent City, CA. Then head north on Highway 101 to Brookings, OR. On the return trip go south on Hwy 101 to Hwy 197 to Hwy 199 back to I-5 South to Medford.
On the trip there are several places to stop like Taylor's Sausage in Cave Junction; they serve food all day long. Also if you want to make it a multiple-day trip there is a motorcycle campground called Sparkplugs on Highway 199 and several hotels in Brookings. A great place for breakfast is Mattie's in Brookings. For great pizza and beer there is Wild River's Pizza in Brookings.
This is great trip with lots of places to see and stop along the way. The various towns along the way include Grants Pass, Cave Junction, Selma, O'Brien, Gasket, and Hiouchi. There are too many places to eat, sleep, and drink to mention. I have listed the most popular out of them. I encourage you to take the ride and enjoy all that it has to offer. I would also encourage you to look at the local paper for upcoming events. The paper is the Curry Coastal Pilot this is the link: www.currypilot.com

I agree with many who write in to say about how great they are treated by the good folks at D&S. Terrie always provides a friendly hello whenever I stop in at D&S. I really enjoy talking to Scott and T.R. in parts to share a ride story or two while having my bike serviced or when picking up some new accessory for my Fatboy®.
Everyone at D&S makes me feel like more than just a customer. They all make you feel like extended family or a special friend. My helmet is off to the best Harley Davidson dealership crew I know. Happy and safe riding to all of you in 2007!
